India China Day
From August 24-25, the new Global Health Fellowship cohort met at the National University of Singapore for its first in-person workshop, “Public Health in Asia: Plural Histories for Global Futures,” part of the Comparative Public Health in Asia program. Seventeen fellows from nine countries presented work across four panels: universal health coverage and national insurance systems, the plural histories of primary care in the region, the infrastructures of care, and the governance of pandemics and infectious disease. Discussion returned to how universal health coverage is defined in different countries, the role of historical context, and the place of markets in shaping health policy.

Global Health Fellowship Workshop
On October 1, the India China Institute held its annual India China Day for its current cohort of six student fellows including three PhD students, two MA candidates, and one BFA student. The fellows presented their research projects, which included research on the production of eri silk in Assam, India, to examining People’s Theater in post-martial law Taiwan and an investigation of India and the global hair industry.
